Could anyone steer me in the direction of someone who could advise me on getting the paint and chrome work on my 531c frame restored. (biggest concern being cost).
Having been in my garage for 10 years the chrome work on the front forks is flaking away. I have tiny rust spot on other areas of chrome. The paint work is not bad condition; however, given that the frame has damaged chrome areas I am assuming that the restoration of the chrome will have some adverse impact on the paint work.
Would it be more cost effective to purchase a new or good condition second hand frame and transfer the components, which are all in excellent condition, over to it?
Being on a restrictive budget all options, ideas would be most welcome.
