I have BB7s on a Trek MTB (which doesn't see many mountains, more just road and light off road use).
The answer is "never". Other than keeping them in adjustment and changing pads, I don't carry out any kind of routine maintenance. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Have had BB7's for years. Apart from giving them a wipe to keep clean, I've never had to service them. Like you and yours, on a road bike, on tarmac. Rock solid brake system.
I can imagine for MTB use getting all mud and dirt mucky it would be a different matter.

Whenever I change the pads, I clean the caliper and pistons. WD40 or GT85 behind the pistons to keep them free. Wipe thoroughly before installing new pads.

I once did a full service - which includes dismantling. Once dismantled, they can be a pain to reassemble. So, the above cleaning and oiling should give longer spells between full service.
