Flanders Festival International Ghent treats you to a superb cycling tour through East Flanders province: the castle route province.
Between 11 o’clock and 12.30 you can depart in Destelbergen. The total distance of the cycling tour is 35 kilometres (loop) and the Castle Route will lead you to the communes of Destelbergen, Melle and Laarne.
Along the way you’ll discover a number of scores of musical gems in fairy-like squares, cosy little chapels, a romantic castle, a sublimely refurbished farm…
You will be treated to music in all its shapes and guises, from refreshing classical music, brought to you by Kryptos Quartet of Simoens Trio, with a healthy helping of fiery flamenco, by Carmen Fernandez to baffling musical installations by Erwin Stache & Atonor.
Each concert lasts about 30 minutes and is repeated three times, allowing everyone to cycle at their own pace.
Just study the time schedule and choose your route accordingly. Last year, over 1500 music enthusiasts went cycling with us!
The Festival will, of course, be there to accompany the cyclists. There will be a sufficient number of stops to accommodate both seasoned and occasional cyclists.
We have foreseen sufficient stops in order to provide you with a relaxing atmosphere.
Last year, the event was sold out after only a few days. Don't wait too long to make up your mind, because this a a truly unique experience!
Even though the capacity is limited, children are more than welcome!
Flanders Festival wishes to seize the opportunity to draw the the public's attention to the concerts held in dozens of villages and communes. No other Festival indeed chooses such diverse sites for its events. Flanders Festival even goes to places you would never expect!
