OK so France is prettier than the average country, but these crews are artists. They get the angles and timing bang on. Yesterday they made a tracking shot around a rocky hilltop with tree-covered road and a clear section of road came into centre frame just as the peleton emerged from the trees.

Yes I like to watch the TdF just as much for the scenery than for the race itself!

Yes respect ! Love the overhead shot as they approach a roundabout , some go left some right & then rejoin as one looks great from above

I remember a commentator saying (on Eurosport?) that the helicopter crews go out and fly the routes of the stages in advance to plan their shots and make note of hazards such as power cables..

Did you see the show-offs on Thursday's stage pretending to play chess on top of a huge, steep-sided outcrop of rock? The bicycle was a nice touch!
