Umm, never tried it but google tells me it is a well , established , combination and i can see how the sweet/bitter/salt/savoury (umami) would work very well.

I had some chocolate and bacon muffins once, the two ingredients work together very well. On a similar theme, pancakes with bacon, scrambled eggs and maple syrup is a breakfast time winner while bacon, banana and maple syrup are great in a toasted sandwich.
