Cracking ride this afternoon

Don't know why, but went for my usual ride this afternoon of about 20-25 miles, but today I felt at one with the world. The sun was shining, the cages were few, the hills were flatter and the hassles were none. Everything was smooth, silky and serene. Got back and felt top of the tree. On top of that, I did my best ever time for the route. What is it that makes these kind of rides so rare?

lucky you....I (liek most I imagine) had to make do with looking out the window at the glorious sunshine instead.
Had my lunch in my car though whilst listening to the radio.....enjoyed the sunshine...it was warm indeed.
