Cycling around Westminster is not overly fun though.

I like the southbank but its pedestrian only. Often very busy at the weekend but lots to do and see. St Katherine's Dock is nice too.

Cycling on a Sunday is great - not many cars around. The City (Square Mile) is usually deserted so great cycling, lovely buildings, but everything there will be shut

Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square are near to the Houses of Parliament. The velodrome is also worth having a look at and vainly trying to peer through the over-reflective glass doors is strangely compulsive. But it's all to do with what takes your fancy. If you come down when there's not been a Friday night ride to the coast, there's a good chance of getting a few CCers up to show you around. Just give us a date.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Down to the City, over to St Pauls, carefully across the Farringdon Road up to the Strand, down to Trafalgar Square, the Mall, Hyde Park Corner, pootle around Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, back to Westminster, cross the river to admire the view (Earth has not anything to show more fair), along the South Bank, over Tower Bridge for the Tower, and trickle northwest back to Kings X.

General advice?
Enjoy yourself! Too general?

- Race the buses on Oxford Street. You'll win every time.
- Play chicken with the skaters on Serpentine Road in Hyde Park
- Bring a homemade sign and stage a protest opposite the Houses of Parliament. There's so much to choose from.
- Get sucked into the bike vortex at the Science Museum.
- Another vote for The City on a Sunday.

Practically a hobby.

Louise Bree anybody?

It's the Bree Louise - but you knew that! Still very good beers on tap.

I'd also recommend the Euston Tap which is even closer to Euston and has a great range of beer. Small, but try upstairs or outside if it's sunny...

Err... no it's not. The South Bank is part of the Thames Path National Trail. Lambeth Council tried to ban cycling on it but were over-ruled to the Boris and TfL.
Really? I had no idea - thought it was pedestrians only. Not sure I'd like to with the sheer volume of people at the weekends.

LMNH*. At the moment there's a pop-up** craft beer*** café just by Hungerford Bridge****.

For @User3094, here's an interpretative guide.
*Look Mum No Hands. A cyclists' café for Hipsters*****

****A bridge over the Thames which carries trains and pedestrians.
*****Nobbers with nasty beards and nasty fixies.
