This poor man was found on a popular cycle and walking trail near Carharrack, Cornwall. He has yet to be identifed and was about 70. His injuries were in-line with him having suffered a cycling accident and his clothing also suggested to the police that he had been cycling. But there is no sign of a bike. Police are appealing to anyone who saw a what appeared to be abandoned bike, and took it home for safe keeping, to come forward. Also police are searching for a red Ford Fiesta, which may have been parked anywhere along the trail. The BBC Cornwall report: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-25811376

If anybody on this forum is in a position to help, please let the police know for the sake of this man's family.

Now updated:

A man whose body was found in a former Cornwall copper mine has been named by police as David Alderson, 72, from Falmouth.
Police believe the keen cyclist had an accident at Wheal Maid mine works, near Carharrack, Cornwall, and died.
His body, which was clothed in cycling apparel, was found by a dog walker on Saturday morning.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they were still searching for a bicycle but had now found his car.
Det Sgt George Lewis from Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"We're particularly keen to trace a bicycle Mr Alderson might have used.
The car was in Falmouth, quite near to Mr Alderson's home. He received injuries consistent with a fall.
At the moment there's nothing to suggest any third party involvement."
