Having never really thought to check before where can I find the actual route (detail) of the first 5 stages of this years TDF? I want to follow the same route in August and need to organise myself? Do they actually publish it this far in advance, I can only find the map of France with a few lines on it (not really what I was looking for)

Thanks

I'm planning to ride stages 1 & 2

Here are my interpretations. Nothing official at all. Use at your own risk

A good question. It always seems to appear on the official "Le Tour" website around about the same time as the official tour magazines get published a month or less before the tour starts. Until then they just tell you about the start and finish towns of each stage and the highest mountains climbed. If anyone knows exactly WHEN it all gets published, I'd be keen to find out, too as I'm wanting to plan some rides for September that follow some of the route through Savoy.

Thanks for both replies, I can work off that poster and then I guess just book at 100 mile intervals then deviate when the route comes out.

Cheers

The "2016 Official Souvenir Pack" is now in the shops. Full route and timings listed, and a decent little foldable route map included too. Everything you need to know, and available even in Tesco.

Thanks for that, bought the pack but never got the route map and the stage coverage didn't really help either, I must check for other magazines in Tesco .... Cheers
