just experienced my first of any note, 4 floors up in a hotel, Giulianova lido in Italy. Freaky. Am outside now with a large glass of wine!

L'Aquila where they had a biggie some years back is around 40 miles away :-/

I experienced one a few years ago in Tokyo...at a meeting with the clients from hell...what an absolutely awful and ignominious end that would have been (it was little un apparently, 5 or 6)...I thought it was just the guy sitting next to me jiggling his legs annoyingly against the table....until the announcement and to stay away from the windows...luckily the room we were in didn't actually have any!
