I found this site this morning.
Thought, as I'm watching stage 8 of the TdF, I'd introduce myself. Fast approaching 51, I live in Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire.
After a very sedentary lifestyle on 40 fags a day, I had a heart attack 12 or so months ago and since then have tried to turn myself around. I am currently attending my local leisure centre gym 3 times a week and among other machines, find I can comfortably reach 14km in 30 mins on the exercise bikes. But the gym is starting to bore me! So I have taken the plunge & through the Cycle to Work scheme I have ordered a new bike & some kit. Next Thursday I will take possession of a Mekk Pinarello 2.0 2015........ Can't wait!
My wife and I have also signed up for the BHF London to Brighton ride next year.
Does anyone know of any local (not too serious) clubs that I might join to help prepare?
