It's a bit more complicated than that...
A big funeral procession for about 10 people a year is a bit much - especially as the number has stayed static despite the explosion in London cycling.

If you really want to make a difference, sort out the lorries.

Awareness is good.

But a thousand people on Oxford Street on a Saturday? Seems a non event aimed at tourists.

I cannot think what positive message it would send.

And according to Denmark and Holland, the best cycling netsworks in the world, segregation and education are the answers, apparently.
