I tried a Giant one but I couldn't see over the top of it so I got a Garmin Touring instead, nice and little. Kind of Lilliputian in comparison

I would possibly agree, the giant ticks all the boxes at the moment but, I feel that as I start monitoring things more I will end up upgrading to garmin anyway.

My advice would be to think about what you might want from a bike computer in the future. I bought the basic Garmin edge 200 to record my rides, but after 2 years i made the jump to the 800. I now record my cadence, HRM and use it to perform sat nav

if you don't need maps depending on what you want to monitor/record and what your bank said it has to be garmin 200, 500 or 510

Cheers Ed. Looked at the options and have to agree with you all that garmin is the future. Think it's just a case of which one.
