It's gross.

Well it makes a gross.

The Laydeez have laid today. Anode made it a gross with egg 144. Cathode has subsequently started the second gross with egg 145.

This little beauty of 67.6g was laid at 09.40 this morning and is egg 144.

So much for hens that were due for slaughter back in April as being 'egged-out' as 'spent hens' . My hens are wonderful birds! xx(:biggrin::thumbsup:

wafflycat, do your birds quite often lay double-yolk eggs? My mate keeps hens in an eggloo and his do quite often. He says he can normally tell which eggs will be 2-yolkers by the size of them.

No, mine don't lay double yolkers - yes, you can often tell by the size, double yolkers being *huge* - which is actually not good for the hen long-term - it can be difficult for a hen to lay such a big egg and if an egg gets stuck a hen can die. Big eggs can come from older hens too.
