I was listening to the radio a couple of days ago, and they were talking about a board game, called something like herniffertaffle, or kernifertaffle. But I can't find mention of it on the internet, it's a really uncommon game, and the world champtionships were taking place on a tiny island off the coast of the UK somewhere.
The game goes thus:
One player attacks the other. The defending player has a king in the middle of the board, and the attacking player has pieces around the outside. The attacking player has twice as many pieces. The aim of the defending player is to get its king to the outside of the board. The attacking player has to try and capture the opposing king.
Any ideas what it's actually called? Has anyone played it?
