Just joined to learn more about today's cycling world. Retuning to cycling after a long gap. Elderly, reaching the end of life cycle ( pun intended ) @ 79. Have had many bikes over the years but I now realise today's bikes are are different generation to those I knew.
As avid motorhomers we have electric bikes (Rayleigh Modus) & love 'em. Excellent for going to the supermarket when a site miles from anywhere (France, Spain etc).
Then son emigrated and left behind 2xGenius bikes - Equilibrium and a Vilare. Both in parlous state since giving up cycling ( married & children ). So I sold the Equilibrium & tried the Volare. Wow! This was a game changer, nothing like it in "my days".
Here I am then; hooked. Gentle rides to start with; oh yes the energy levels have dropped - in fact barely there at all. But I love it and, I'm told, it's healthy!!
