Things I remember:

Meeting Susie and Simon. It's been while
The weather
The stinky old vehicles
Beating the yellow coach up Clayton Hill
Discovering that one of our number is still on his original small chain ring (now 13 years old). Can you guess who?
No pasties de nata as the Portuguese cafe was shut.
The traffic jam on the way into Brighton.
The traffic jam going the other way as we zoomed over Devil's Dyke
Me not managing to keep up with @ianrauk and @arallsopp on the way home.

Was glad that you and I had the sense to turn up in Friday's jackets, in anticipatory honour of random encounters. You managed to avoid the nasty bit of the route home, btw. Some point after Crawley, the wind turned in the face of @ianrauk, and (egads!) he had to ask me to take the lead. Those that know my navigational abilities know that such a move can only come from desperation.

Oddly, we made it home. I still have no idea how

It was a fair while ago, but I do remember it being a lumbering great thing. With livestock on board our progress was very stately indeed, with a massive amount of forward planning and anticipation so as not to be doing any sharp braking, and where possible we always parked up by driving in a large circle at the showground rather than trying to reverse ^_^.
In a previous life I drove a TK Bedford artic unit, delivering to a chain of minor / local supermarkets - Londis - That kind of thing.
Power assisted anything = 0
Not helped by having busted 2 ribs on one occasion. (Bedroom accident. Do Not Ask)
On that occasion, gear changes really hurt.
