Just had an e-mail from Trek UK - Stolen bikes...

Bikes stolen outside of Trek UK offices​

(Milton Keynes) – A lorry carrying a shipment of 2013 Trek road and mountain bikes was broken into overnight on Friday, October 26th. The vehicle was parked on the street outside of the Trek offices.

Models taken include several sizes of the following models:

Elite 8.8
Elite Carbon 9.6
Fuel EX 8
Remedy 9.8
Madone 3.5
Madone 4.7
Madone 5.9

It is possible that stolen bikes will show up in stores for repair or build, or for sale on auction sites such as Ebay and Gumtree. Trek UK has a list of serial numbers for verification.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen bikes, or to report a stolen bike being offered for sale, is asked to contact Trek UK on 01908 360 160.

Thieving toe-rags! Hope they are recovered soon!

Could this be one? Never seen a bike for sale on ebay boxed, and timing seems to fit. Only thing that makes me believe it may be legit is the sellar has very good feedback. (usually thieves use a new account)

I sent the guy a message asking him to clarify when, where he bought it and what's it's serial number is. If he refuses I think we have a hit here.

Saw the same listing and i too find it very suspicious. Why would anyone buy a bike, not ride it or even assemble it then sell it straight away.i smell a rat.

Why not email Trek the link and let them sort it out? I'm sure a group of angry Trekkies appearing on the thieves' doorsteps will make them give back the bikes they nicked. A bit stupid to leave them outside over night in the first place.

The stolen bikes are 2013's, that listing is for a 2012.

Was legit. He emailed me the S/N which I sent off to trek. They confirmed it was a 2012 model and NOT one they were looking for.
