Journalist Paul Kimmage attacked Lance Armstrong in his own back yard, when at the Tour of California press conference he stated words to the effect that Armstong's return to racing was similar to cancer being in remmission, but now it had returned!
Armstrong attempted to deflect this criticism by being offended about cancer being used as a tool of attack, and went on to state that his reasons for returning was precisely to raise profile and money so as to save Kimmage and others the trauma of the illness. Glossing over the oblique reference to the use of drugs in cycling, and his possible role in their use.
The reply from Kimmage was inaudible, so the exchange was decidedly one-sided.
With all the Lance mania in California was Kimmage mad or is he trying to bait Armstrong into a public gaffe?
