Curry, tobacco...

You can make it very difficult, if you are with a group of people, and not writing it down. Ie she likes lettuce, but not salad. She likes beef, but not lamb, then people are looking for a clue in the items.

As people guess, but there is usually one person who is unable to see the link. I usually stop before they get too exaperated.

I'm somewhat stumped on the peter knocking.
I trust it's nothing dull like, he rings the bell?

Otherwise my brain is still 'throwing up' double lettered foodstuffs and will continue to do so until exhausted.
Cassarole. Souffle. Sweet Corn/potato. Broccoli.

There are 1296000 seconds in a year. Those being seconds of arc of the centre of the earth going round in the sun.

I know that there are lots of scientific answers to this question.:sad:

But on this occasion the answer is 12

ie
the 2nd of January
the 2nd of february
etc

or if you read Tdr1nka's post no 8

there are 24 seconds in a year
if you also count the 22nd of January
and the 22nd of February etc

Do I need to hide under the desk again?
Or can I buy you a drink in Beer?:ohmy:

Damn ordinal numbers!

What about the year 1751, that had fewer 2nds in it. It didn't contain 2nd January, February or March

Peter went to visit his friend.

How many times did he knock on the door?

This one should take you a bit longer!

Clue:

He went back the next day, and knocked more often.

On Saturday he tried six times.

(an enormous clue)
