Manchester - Blackpool 2010

Hi all,

am thinking about doing the manc black ride in 2010. I ride a 15.5m commute a day when in work and am trying to find out what I should do to pick up training so as not to look like a prat on the day.

Also would any people be looking at doing it as well?

so long as you have some slicks on whatever bike you are using you should be fine.
Extending your commute by a few miles each way would be an advantage too.

have decent hybrid tyres on, seem to be ok on the commute

If I can get the hang of the new bike (once its gets ordered and arrives!) and build some miles up over the winter I hope to do this.

ill be doing this this year and i hadn't ridden a bike from last years ride to about May this year, i've been building up my distances by about 5 miles each weekend upto about 40 without much strain with a few cheeky miles in during the weekdays.

its a nice little ride, was my first long distance ride
