Your Northern correspondent here.

The Manchester-Morecambe FNRttC on 16th October is open for business.
The departure point is Albert Square in front of MCR's town hall and we meet at 23.30 for a midnight departure.

An overview:-
  • it's 65 miles
  • it's hilly but the hills are mostly gentle
  • the mid-way stop is at a 24 hour McDonalds in Blackburn
  • breakfast will be in Lancaster
  • post-breakfast drinks will be in Lancaster
  • it's best to book trains home from Lancaster

There is a fuller explanation of the route here:- http://fridaynightridetothecoast.blogspot.co.uk/p/manchester-to-morecambe-is-79-miles.html

The blog also has information on the sign-up procedure

Register for the ride by e-mailing: manchester-morecambe@outlook.com

I'll need:-

There used to be a question about sheep but I never found out the answer so I shan't ask. We shall, however, see lots of them in the fields.

Please feel free to ask any questions either on this thread or via the e-mail above.

Train up north arrives at Piccadilly 2200, train down south leaving Lancaster 0956. Have no bike reservation for the return leg, so it'll be Chutney or a very big bag....

Email sent.

And trains booked. I'm also on the 9:56, and have a cycle reservation, though I'm only going as far as Mordor Central.

How about a list ?:-

Katie S
Kim W

Steve R
Stu A

I've only included those people who have confirmed.
Hopefully, the list will extend significantly if the "possibles" upgrade to "definites".

I'm booked! And so is bike. Now I have just realised this is OCTOBER! I have some very wet, cold and windy memories of riding in Lancashire in October. Heading down to Slaidburn in a hailstorm is one of them. But we are not going there. So it will be fine.

Best to assume it will be cold and wet, so we may be pleasantly surprised.
