New chain, gears slipping

Hi guys can anyone help? I've just put a new chain on my bike and it's slipping when in gears 1,2,3, and 4. It's working fine in 5,6 and 7. No trouble swapping between the front two cogs. It happens when I'm in both the big and small rings on the front. Cheers.

Your cassette is worn. You need a new one to go with the new chain.

Sounds like your rear cassette is worn. If I've changed a chain and its slipping it will be in the gears I use most. Some say change the chain and cassette together but I only change the cassette when a new chain slips.

I do tend to keep it in the top half of the cassette. I guess I'll be off down the shops soon then. In the meantime I can use this opportunity to build some leg strength. Ha. Ha. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.
