Hi @AndyRM I kind of called off the idea anyway (re-edited the first post)... there wasnae much interest tbh... p'raps another time, though this is the 2nd time I've tried, so probs not till the next time that too much wine makes organising one seem like a good idea
I'm usually out on the Northumberland roads anyway most Saturdays or Sundays... on an aging red Giant bike, mebbe see you out there one day.

I stupidly agreed to what I thought would be a 'gentle' ride with a friend and ended up battered by the wind in the beautiful Northumberland countryside.

We ended up in the Impromptu Cafe in Elsdon. I'm sure I saw a red Giant in the group of bikes outside. My timing is hazy as a I was in too much pain to care, but it was probably around noon. Were you in there?

Hi, no I wasn't, but I came through Elsdon about 2pm, didn't stop in the caff though, but I go there occasionally. Sooooooo windy today!!! Actually did most of the route n my map above today, and the bit from Netherton across to Harbottle was murder! Straight into a howling gale. Great fun though!!!

It's a class wee place, the couple who run it have great craic.

The wind was absolutely horrendous. I really shouldn't have agreed to go out but I'm an idiot and I like riding my bike... My hammy is seriously punishing me for my foolishness so I'm away to alleviate the throbbing in the bathroom.

Would you be interested in a ride next Friday or Sunday? My pal is coming up with a route and you'd be welcome if you fancy it.

Hi @Fnaar, I've only just spotted this thread ... if you ever organise a ride out of Berwick-upon-Tweed, give us a shout, CC Ecosse may cross the Border en masse (a small masse anyway ). It's been ages since meeting up at Coldstream for the CC jersey relay!
