Anyone know Basin Street Blues?

With a great deal of irony I sing it as Basing stoke Blues.

It is so un-Basingstoke I laugh at my own joke if I have the track on in the car while I am there.

Basing stoke, is the street, where the bricks and concrete meet.

Let me guess, you cycle in south Essex quite a bit? Or could be the Isle of Thanet?

I do cycle on Isle of Thanet now and again, and therefore I always get the next verse of the song, and just who were Joyce and Vicky anyway?

I'd rendezvous with Janet
quite near the Isle of Thanet
she looked more like a gannet
she wasn't half a prannet
her mother tried to ban it
her father helped me plan it
and when I captured Janet she bruised her pomegranate

Nothing to do with place names but this morning I was day dreaming about Margaret Thatcher's and Ronald Reagan's Spitting Image puppets singing 'Je t'aime'. I don't think it was even in an actual episode.
