Hi,
I'm wanting to buy a bike just pootling around the local area, bike rides along tow paths etc
I live in a fairly hilly area but at the moment I'm planning in avoiding them due to a complete lack of fitness! I've seen the ridgeback speed and wondered if anyone has any opinions on it - it 'so currently on sale in my local bike shop with £130 off so it's a bit if a bargain.

Thanks in advance

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
They're used by my university for student/staff loan as they're robust and easy to maintain.

Basic bikes but seem to survive abuse.

Hello and welcome. The Speed is a good basic bike, strangely fine if you are not a speed merchant! Reduced because they are now discontinued, so a good buy.

no, no, no

its not fair. That's the model i wanted but was out of my price range at the beginning of July so i went for the motion instead, after fitting mudguards & stand it cost me £279 & i still haven't got the rear carrier.

that's great value at the price, shop i got mine from are asking £269 for the speed now it discounted. Typical.
