Can anyone recommend some decent clincher road bike tyres that are good puncture resistance and reasonably fast rolling. And not too expensive. The tyres which come with my entry level btwin bike are now beginning to wear out and I need to change them soon?

Hi,

Looks a very decent choice for an entry level road bike.
Great review for the tyre. Great value for a tyre + tube.

rgds, sreten.

Some of us fit a new tyre on the front, and the older front on the back.
(Repeat each time the rear is past its sell by date.)
A bit pointless if you think your upgrading to better tyres all round,
but not at all fittting a new similar quality tyre, as rears wear about
about 3 times faster than the front, (unless you have rotated your
tyres, and the general concensus is that is not a good general idea).

I wouldnt go for any michelin for puncture protection my lithions sidewalls went on both after 50 miles. And ive had 4 sets of pro 4's and they all had sidewall or major cutting failures apart from the last set that got nicked with my bike, the only thing that kept me using them was the fact i was getting them as free replacements from michelin and the ride performance was amazing,
ive got a pair of conti ultrasports £10 each that have lasted me ages and i use them as a backup tyre and ive often rode them over gravel and rocks and taken them offroad and had no issues

Conti GP4000s. That is all.

TRUE but i dont call £32 each ....''..And not too expensive..''...............^_^

why not move up to 25c. I'm running at 85psi and notice a difference [better.!] over the previous 23c at 100psi
i now use Schwalbe Lugano 25c from hopkinsoncycle on eBay at £22.99 a pair delivered ..
