I would say, although this story is obviously tragic for those involved, it looks like a death from natural causes so is ultimately less newsworthy than the death of Demoitie, the circumstances around which have wider implications for the sport.
I recently read an article that suggested there are a good number of people with minor heart defects which never trouble them unless they are constantly under full load. This may have been the case with this poor young man, could have been here was simply something that even full ecg test would not show, and only happened at high stress loading. It's happened in other sports as well. So incredibly sad when it does happen due to something that all the tests can miss.
