Well the hooks are modified butchers ones so you may be right about origins. But it works and the load/space capacity is more than ample for double the amount of bikes.
The wall hanging hooks I had before worked well but, being on the side wall, the bikes were prone to being bumped by passing shoulders. I did think about just fitting them to the rear wall but the enclosed lower beam made it tricky. Also the rear wall is made of those light blocks rather than the concrete ones of the side wall.
