Looking at the state of play out my window at the moment, you might have a long wait

Gorgeous bike - that was on my short list but my local dealer could not give me a definite date + had nothing even remotely similar to try.

Funny you said that. I pre ordered end of Sep (with discount ;) ) and told by dealer (indipendent) that it would arrive end of Oct. Knowing Cubes lateness on previous year release i contacted Cube Uk ditributor to find out the "truth" on delivery dates. He told me mid to end November which I still thought was realistic.
30th of October got a call from dealer to say it had arrived!! My friend also ordered one from Cycles uk and hers arrived a week later.

Hopefully a better pic' of my Giant TCX1 - tried my best!

Shimano 105 brifters / front & rear mech's.

FSA Gossamer MegaExo 46/36 chainset.

TRP CX9 brakes

Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 32mm tyres - bike mainly used on road.

Shimano M520 SPD's.

Extra bits. Cateye Velo computer, Cateye triple rear light, Specialised mini bag. Giant bottle cages.

All the other stuff is Giant which seems just fine to me - even the saddle feels good.

Thinks I love: relaxed riding position, the dinky little brake levers I can use when riding on the top of the bars, the really nice grippy brakes, the comfort provided by the tyres and top tube cable runs that keeps them out of the crud. The big rectangular frame tubes look cool too.

Size SM (53cm) just right for all 5' 8" of me. Cost £1000 basic bike. The extra bits and pieces bought it up to £1100. Seems like quite a lot of bike for the money.

Looking at these great pics, I feel cheated that the one cross race I've done so far was in dry conditions. Chiz.

d.

Which is an accomplishment this autumn as well. I think there was one other dry race... although thinking back, that wasn't London League

Will we see you at one of the remaining 4 LL races? Mud virtually guaranteed I would say.

Probably not - unfortunately, with the rugby season in full swing, my Sundays are rarely my own. I was hoping to do the Penshurst one, but my son's team has done rather better in their cup competition than expected, so they have a match this Sunday...

Probably just as well, of all the courses, the Penshurst one is the least SS friendly.

First time out for Red, still an incomplete build with temporary stem, bars, seatpost, and cables.

Lovely looking machine Mr V, enquired after one of those very frames a few months back but the guy on t`other end of the phone got a little bit shirty with me because I mentined bottle cage mounts!! He pointed out that this was a hardcore performance frame and for this reason it shouldn`t come with BC mounts!! Poor chaps probably never seen a Colnago Prestige or Ridley X-night....

Thank you very much. Here is it's livery for this season:

The bottle cage mounts debate is as old as cyclocross itself. In recent years, the big brands have all caved in to the pressures of the marketplace and include them on even elite level frames, but I rather respect Kinesis decision, and I am sure they did not take it lightly to go for the purist option.

As to the actual downsides of having the mounts there? There probably aren't any. It's an aesthetic.
