Stolen Ridgeback Melody

My 6-year-old daughter's Ridgeback Melody has been stolen. (The one in my profile pic). From outside our house after she took a tumble and we left it outside while looking after her inside. It had a trailgator attachment on the front.

How low can these thieving gits go? How can they: 1 - steal a bike from a child; and 2 - presumably give the bike to another child (or buy it from a dodgy source) knowing it was stolen?
Hope you get it back, but then you probably wouldn't want it after it's been in the hands of these scum.
