Hello!

I am after some inside knowledge on where to go for a good couple of days MTB in the Yorkshire Dales.

Ideally what I want is some good trails and a nice warm B&B for a meal and a few drinks for the lay over.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

(I'm a newbie so go easy on me if I've missed the new-post etiquette training morning!)

Dales are awesome, but depends on the sort of mountainbiking you want to do. The Vertebrate Publishing guides do North and South Dales, http://www.v-publishing.co.uk/books/categories/mountain-biking.html (also available via Amazon to save a pound or two, but that's up to your corporate business conscience....) and are a good investment. However, the recurring theme in the Dales is long range Doubletrack bridleways with limestone grassland tracks thrown in for good measure. Fantastic for cross country/two-wheeled hiking and looking for kickers for long fast descents, but there's little by way of technical challenge like the Peaks or Lakes.

Trailcentre style riding is great if you are in the Southern end of the Dales, with Gisburn just over the Border into Black Pudding country, and Lee/Crag Quarry nearby. Northern Dales you'll have to travel a bit, into Cumbria for Grizedale or Whinlatter forest.
