Support for Australian cyclists from high up

I LOVE it when cyclists get support from influential public figures!
In my home state of Victoria, our Police Commissioner has just stepped in to support cyclists' rights to use the roads, and clarified a few misconceptions that motorists have about us. See here:

And they are now a legally recognsed political party, in New South Wales. Fair play to them. Top of the list, namewise as well.

The NSW Electoral Commission has announced that we have been officially listed as a political party! As far as we can tell, it is the first party for cycling and those who bicycle anywhere.

Just 6 months from our firs...t member signing up we are now a new option for the voters of NSW and hopefully soon in Vic and other States and Territories and Federally. We believed it was time we went beyond hoping for change and many of you and our other members appear to agree.

Today we are also changing our "look" and preparing to create the jerseys and shirts that many of you have asked about. We will use a crowd-funding approach to finance this effort beginning soon.

Yes, as a ACP member I got emailed about it, although your post properly belongs in the "Australian Cyclists Party" thread . This thread's about our top cop supporting cyclists. What strikes me as a bit amusing about his support is that it just happens to occur shortly after he was in a group bike ride, and got harassed by a motorist. Funny, that .
