Swiss Trail Bells

Bought one of these a few months back after someone in my club recommended them.

And whilst it’s been on my bike and also that of my wife’s it wasn’t until the last 2 weeks when i was back in the UK and riding on the coastal paths in Cornwall and Devon that i really benefited from it. Making walkers aware of your presence gradually rather than a classic abrupt ring ring of a bike bell seemed to be well appreciated and got a few smiles along the way. Just ordered a second one so we have 1 per bike now.

Might be interesting for those that ride trails where there’s other path users.

I’ve got a Swiss trail bell - the band can be used to shut it up. Handy for walking trails (does not penetrate earbuds though)

yes as above there’s a magnet on a small strap that holds the clanger to silence it. They have some nice colour schemes as well.

sod all use in the UK where half the population has their ears plugged into music or their phone..... and then act really surprised when you pass them. despite you having dinged a bell or shouted hello 8 times on approach

Yes noticed that last week, couldn’t understand why the lady in front hadn’t noticed my and then i just saw the ear buds…

I spend a lot of time and effort trying to make my bike rattle free and silent, the last thing I want is a bell rattling away like a demented toddler.
