With the current heatwave its too hot just to go out for a nice cycle ride.
Best time is possibly later in the evening.
Does anyone think that cycling in such conditions is possibly not a good thing to do especially as you get older.

You're only as old as the bike you ride, this weather is perfect for browsing for N+1

That's exactly what I did yesterday. I took a very pretty trek domane for a test drive and bought it yesterday. I was planning on taking it for a longer ride in the afternoon, but the heat had given me a head ache and I had to have a sleep instead.:cursing: And today (and the rest of the week) work gets in the way. :cursing::cursing::cursing:

Early morning is also your friend - lot cooler than the evenings when the roads and everything else manmade have had chance to soak up a full day of sun.

Just back from 50 mile ride drank plenty of water and two energy bars, having coffee made with milk at the mo, then nip out later and get another 10 miles hopefully great for cycling generate your own breeze

I was right about that saddle
No such thing. Same applies to Rain and Cold. Well, unless it's 10 feet snowdrifts I guess.

Suncream and water.]

Having said that - I took a mountain bike out for 2 hours in Porto Santo (same latitude as Egypt)
When I returned, I fell ill with sunstroke & heatstroke.
