What are the brands of bikes are used for track cycling races in the Olympics?

And are they made especially for the rider?

What type of group sets do they use?

I'm still new to cycling. I'm just wondering really.

And when I mean track cycling I mean the one what takes place inside an arena.

Most mainstream manufacturers make track bikes. They don't have groupset per say as they are fixed wheel without brakes.

Loads of makes of stuff used. It's all track specific though. Bolt on wheels, 120mm rear axels. Most manufacturers have kit. Shimano Dura Ace cranks, Stronglight, Miche etc etc.

My commute bike is essentially a track bike with brakes.

as I said most manufacturers make track kit, but it all has to be within limitations. Cranks are 165mm, there is a set BB height. Nothing to be sticking out off the bike, etc etc.

You can get a GB team bike but it costs about £30k for one. Why, all bikes used in racing have to be available for the public to buy, so the GB squads bikes were developed in secret, they charge an arm and a leg for others to have one. The bars and stuff are all bespoke too for the GB squad.

If you want a track bike for track use, check out what riders are using. You will find the name Dolan well to the fore. He supplies bikes to Manchester (indoor velodrome) spec., so you won't go far wrong with one.
