Having made a written submission to the committee's investigation into cycling safety, I had a read through a number of the documents submitted. There are a lot of thoughtful, well-argued submissions. I did particularly like the no-nonsense approach from the Merseyside Cycling Campaign and Wirral Pedestrians' Association :

There are also a few cringeworthy ones in there as well e.g.

Greater Manchester Police :

Their focus is on the failings of cyclists, with only a bit about mitigating danger from HGVs and next to nothing about driving standards and the danger caused by poor and/or aggressive driving.

Naked self-interest - it's all about selling bikes. Even the chapter with 'changing behaviours' in the title says nothing about how this is going to happen.

I wonder if the committee members will get the message after their woeful performance in the public sessions.
