Terrible thing to happen but I'll be the first to enquire if there was two of them why didn't they take turns to leave the bikes and have one of them there at any time? I'm doing the Manchester-Blackpool night ride later this month and will bring a lock just to use when I'm using the toilets at the finish. There will be almost zero security there in relation to who rode in on what.

The sad thing is that the theievs came ready prepared in cycle gear. A well planned theft, who would question someone in full lycra?
