Morning all

Suspect I know the answer to this... but does my front tyre need replacing?

Where the 'join' is there appears to be a clear line and loose thread (see pics). I'm guessing it's a case of 'better safe than sorry' and it's time to fork out for some new front rubber.

Any opinions as to the cause welcomed. For info, these are Schwalbe Sammy slicks that have seen about 600 miles use.

That is an unusual bit of damage - possibly a faulty tyre - might it be under warranty still at only 600 miles which is not a lot and you can see it's not very worn at all

Yep, just rang 'em and that's what I'm going to do. I want a refund though, as I can't get it back to the original shop for a couple of weeks, so looks I need to pop into Evans near where I work for some new tyres tonight!

I'm not having a good run of luck with rubber. The Schwalbe Marathon+ I fitted degraded and punctured too.

Time to try a different brand...
