Wanted: front road brake caliper

I'm after a front road brake caliper, standard drop.

The Tektro's I've got won't work on the front with my new Shimano commuting wheels as I need standard drop calipers. My 105 set are stiff and won't spring back.

Anyone got anything before I resort to eBay / others? If they're a pair that's fine.

Have you loosened the little pivot bolts on the calipers. I've had some which tighten up and once loosened they are ok again.

@Sharky - thanks for the suggestion. Tried it, made no difference.

I think putting the brake calipers through the dishwasher to clean them has made it all seize up

Well, you learn something new every day - do not dismantle your bicycle and feed its component parts into domestic cleaning equipment ...

That has put me off putting my tablet and laptop in the washing machine to clean their screens!

If you take them fully apart, clean and regrease they are usually retrievable. I had a set of calipers that I thought would never sprig back freely again, but a full dismantle sorted them out. Takes a while and you have to weigh up if it is worth £30 that you can often get a new set for...
