xml t6 battery recharge after store

Seems my old 6 cell pack has been stored to long without charging ( Doh !) , will it recharge and hold its charge or shall i just buy a new one ?
Bought the front/rear set as spotted in the bargain thread but i intended to use the 2 cell pack just for the rear and run the front off the 6 cell, as its for commuting battery weight is not an issue as i use panniers.

Try charging and then cycling the battery by a few charges and discharges with the light and time the how long the light stays on for. It should increase the time and eventually plateau
