I stayed in a hotel in Tarbes and looked forward to a lovely kip before the mountains, then the Foreign Legion arrived. I swear to God I'm not making this up, their base is Perpignan or something, a load of skinhead squaddies were running about the hotel going crazy ape bonkers on beer, shaven-headed grunts drunk out of their heads banging on doors screaming. Horrible. About to be posted to the desert. Woke me up twice. I think one of them signed up to forget a love affair but the girl's name was Sandy and he ended up going mad.

It's between Nogaret and Revel in the Haute Garonne.

The picture was taken between the "start" and the "finish"; I don't know why the trace is incomplete unless I forgot to start the Garmin .

It was a cycle camping tour of the Loire valley! That is the rear of Chambord Chateau.

Yes, it was very gentle and it made for an excellent descent.
If you look at my heart-rate, you'll see that I wasn't going very quickly; I rode alongside my GF chatting away.
This seemed to annoy her.
On the way back, we saw a couple of FDJ riders; they were reccying the TdeF stage that went through Revel.
