F1 is boring . No where near as much fun as watching a Pro Tour cycle race. The TdF should be a lot more interesting by comparison even with 2 dinosaurs competing - Armstrong and Ulrich as opposed to just one in F1 - Schumacher.

the ban on refuelling isn't to blame for dull racing. it was in force throughout most of the '80s and notably the senna/prost/mansell/piquet era, where the racing was a lot better than it seems to be today.

presumably the on-board computers and car-pit radiolink will mostly remove the possibility of cars running out of fuel (remember mansell's victory wave just before he ground to a halt?) which did add a certain spice to events…

It's been like this for a few years, the FIA made it so if you touch another car you get a drive through basically. or time added. It just promotes safe driving and it's bloody boring at times.

In BTC it's not the same, and it makes for some great action.

Alonso won the race. Isn't that the top class driver who didn't know that this car was only fueled for about 6 laps (or some other very low figure) in the Singapore race, so that he could get clear and then make a pit stop when his team mate engineered a crash.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is a "safety car" in the new rules, can all of the cars whizz into the pits and get new tyres ?

I watched the start and the first couple of laps.

Did I miss anything exciting? When I saw the result, I guessed I didn't, apart from Vettel driving slowly.

I used to like watching F1, but it's got so boring. I thought I would just watch the start and then the pit stops, because that's where all the action is, but now they don't re-fuel even the pit stops are dull. :tired:

That was one of th emost boring races I remember. Hopefully it will improve once we get to proper tracks and the teams and drivers get used to the new regs. Schumacher did better than I thought he might. He'll soon find his feet again.

Is the race on at early 'o' clock too? Is there highlights on in the afternoon?

I'm planning on visiting someone on sunday and don't want to interrupt them watching it.

Race programme starts at 6am. I like the early ones cos they don't interfere with the rest of the day.:)
