I can't help asking myself why those folk in the traffic jam stick with their cars - are they all carrying heavy tools to work? Are they physically infirm?

I usually not in favour of segregated cycling, because the facilities are usually very poor, and don't allow for fast commuting. However, if there were lanes like these along the main arteries then it would be brilliant.

It certainly won't happen here in Glasgow though, as you would probably have to knock down houses, factories, schools etc just to put the lanes in place

However where there was space lanes like these would be wonderful....
