advice needed on which cassette to fit?

hi, building up a winter trainer its got a 53/39 and i was wondering what ten speed cassette would suit best? i live in sheffield so a lot of rides into the peaks! choice of 12/23 12/25 13/26 thanks

Impossible question to answer.

Alberto Contador would go for the 12/23, middle aged and decrepit Smokin Joe uses a 13/26, and that's with a compact.

Where do you fit in between?

I've got 12-26 and a triple on my Winter bike, because it sometimes gets to go up the Cheshire/Staffs other side of your Peaks, on wet roads, with a rack and mudguards, and me wearing tons of clothes.

My TT bike however, which goes out in Summer on nice flat Cheshire roads, hopefully dry, has 12-21 and 54/42...

For Sheffield, go with 12-27.
You'll apprechiate that lower gear when you've got tired legs or when you're attempting Winnats.

With a triple.
With a 24T inner ring.
