Hi, me and a friend are thinking about t cycling the west highland way. I have completed it twice on foot so I understand what the terrain is like and the bits where i'm getting off to push. What is bothering me though is a solution for tyres. I have a set of Schwalbe off road tyres and a set of Continental Travel Contact City tyres. I know a lot of the WHW is fairly good path and in dry conditions my continental's should be fine, but would anyone reccomend using the off road tyres instead that has possibly completed it already ? Also if there is any suggestion about pressures I would greatly appreciate it.

Off road tyres definitely. Pressure wise then it is a preferance thing and depends on conditions as well as what tyre being used - i run anything between about 35 - 50 psi. Lower than that it feels very squirmy and high chance of pinch punctures (unless going tubeless) and higher feels a bit skittish.

be prepared to hike-a-bike for the section by Loch Lomond regardless of tyre choice
