With over 60 years of cycling and doing most of my own maintenance, I thought I was an expert - how wrong was I.
Took my 6 yr old grandson to the local park with his bike. He came to me after a while saying "look Grandad, the cable has come off my front brake". It was a V Brake and no matter how I tried, I couldn't get the thing back on again. Luckily a passer-by stopped and said "I know about bikes" and he just popped it back on again in 2 secs flat.
My only excuse is that I've never had a bike with V Brakes and never too old to learn something new.
