It seems that unless I go out on a glorious warm summer day, my feet are cold - why are cycling shoes so well ventilated when it's only warm enough to need it for a couple of months a year?!

Ok, so any tips on keeping toes warm? I'd rather not gaffa tape my shoes up!

I do - but only thick winter ones. Is it just the case that I'll need some windproof overshoes for the rest of the year?

get some warmer shoes, they don't have to be lightweight vented ones, I suffer from cold big toes and wore wooly booly socks and winter boots until fairly recently

My shoes are great but they have a big ventilation hole in the bottom - a real pain in the wniter. I just put a scrap of material in the hole and taped over it with electrical tape. It's still there even though the weather is warmer. if you've got lots of mesh on the upper try getting oversocks or toe socks.
