Ant, ( not Dec) has received the highest fine ever for drink driving. £86k. Plus a 20 month ban. Is it fair to fine someone more for an equivalent crime because they are richer? It is less than 5 days pay for him apparently! So the equivalent of a couple of hundred quid for most people.
Seems fair to me if it is to have any meaning. When you put it like that, Less than 5 days pay, seems pretty low.
It is interesting that the press and public have so far been very positive. I don’t recall the likes of Tony Adams getting quite so much support.
My own view that he's a drunk driving twerp who endangered the lives of an innocent family and child. Between that and the toupee he's beyond help. But... If he's genuinely contrite, learns from the experience, and modifies his behaviour, then maybe he can salvage something positive from the experience. Only time will tell.
You recon thats a wig? I would have thought that he would have been able to sort himself out with a better hairpiece than that, hes loosing his hair at the front which makes me think its his own hair. Actually just seen the clip from today and it looks like a bonded topper, so your right I think Drago.
Seems fair to me. I got a monkey fine and 20 MTHS in 95 for twice the limit. Mind you I was paying myself £250 a week ..so I was robbed and treated harshly
Does anyone really care? I guess trial by media is as popular now as public stoning once was. It fills the column inches I suppose.
Ought to ban any drunk driver from any car for period of ban whether driving or not. So public transport only.
