I'm staying at the Ibis Budget (next door to the Ibis), just down from the Central Station.

I've got a budget of c. €200 per day but decided to go for cheap and basic accommodation (€55 p/n) and splash out on food and wine, etc. instead.
€200 a day! Wow! Lotus eater.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Not sure which restaurant I shall grace tonight.
A (number of) years ago, when we were getting the car transporter back to Calais from Avignon we went back into the town after dropping off the car and found a Couscouserie. Which was delicious, cheap, filling and extremely good value. I'd recommend it if I had the faintest idea what it was called.

Any Chais Du Grillon on their wine list (Produit de Ventoux)?
Ah, quite like their white as a glugger, when I'm in my résidence.

Though I also like the local local stuff... not widely available...

Getting out of Avignon to the South East can be an unpleasant challenge! We did it this summer and only by chance avoided a major dual carriageway by riding through trading estates. To the south there is a river with a marked cycle route marked on maps...we backtracked away from it as it felt a risky place to be!
